GreatFamily provides a lot of different ways to edit your family tree. This short tutorial doesn't show them all, but hopefully it will help you getting started.
This tutorial shows you how to create a person, his parents and their relationship.

You will find the most common tasks in GreatFamily's popup menus by clicking the right mouse button ("right-clicking").
But many common tasks have keyboard shortcuts for more efficient editing. Tip: Instead of using the popup menu, you can press CTRL+N to create a male item or CTRL+F to create a female item.

Move your mouse to an appropriate position and click the left mouse button. The personal details editor opens automatically.

Fill in the person's name, birth date and other details and click "OK" when you're satisfied.
Tip: You can now move the new item wherever you like by using the click and drag method.

Select "Link to Father", or simply press "F". Move your mouse up and to the left and click the left mouse button.

A new item will be created, and you can see a blue line connecting the two items. The new item represents the first person's father.

Create the mother item as well (use "Link to Mother"), placing it up and to the right of the first item (or wherever you like).

To fill in name and other details, double-click the items one by one.

Click your mouse on the father item to select it. Right-click and select "Link to Spouse", or simply press "L". Now select the mother item.
A dialog opens, and here is where you fill in the relationship details.
The dotted line represents the connection between the two spouses. To later edit the details of the relationship, double-click either the mother or the father item and select the "Spouses" tab.
